Black Hills Orthopedic & Spine Center Celebrates 10 Years as Official Orthopedic, Sports Medicine Providers for Rapid City Rush

The specialty-trained doctors and surgeons of Black Hills Orthopedic & Spine Center have signed a 4-year contract and are serving as the official orthopedic and sports medicine providers for the ECHL’s Rapid City Rush hockey team for the 2021-22 season. This season marks over 10 years of the practice’s sports medicine and ProMotion physical therapy teams partnering with the Rapid City Rush.

“At Black Hills Orthopedic & Spine Center, we provide sports medicine coverage for a number of athletic teams, and we are thrilled to have the privilege of caring for the elite athletes of the Rapid City Rush,” says Dr. Lew Papendick, fellowship-trained sports medicine surgeon at Black Hills Orthopedic & Spine Center. “We use a team approach in caring for athletes, and we understand how discouraging it can be for an athlete to be sidelined by an injury. That’s why we are dedicated to injury prevention and to returning athletes to play quickly and safely.”

As official team orthopedic and sports medicine providers, the experts at Black Hills Orthopedic & Spine Center will provide athletic injury prevention, recognition, evaluation and treatment for Rush athletes. As advanced experts in bone, joint and muscle care and sports-related injuries, the orthopedic sports medicine specialists will work as a team to help Rush players stay in the game.

“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Black Hills Orthopedic & Spine,” says Rapid City Rush President, Todd Mackin.  “The Rapid City Rush will continue to receive excellent medical care over the course of the season thanks to the talented providers at Black Hills Orthopedic & Spine.”

The board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic sports medicine surgeons at Black Hills Orthopedic & Spine Center’s Sports Medicine Center of Excellence see patients and treat athletes at locations throughout the region.
