“I spent several months dealing with a "Trigger Finger" right thumb. When I finally realized it was not going to get better on its own, I made a call to the Black Hills Orthopedic & Spine Center. The scheduling staff was very knowledgeable about the issue and helped me schedule an appointment with Dr. Aaron Dykstra. Being a Type I diabetic, it didn't take me very long to decide I wanted to go the surgery route instead of trying steroid shots. The surgery was done under a local anesthetic. Dr. Dykstra was fun, fast and very professional. He went in got it done and back out with very little discomfort to me. The next 12 to 24 hours was a little rough but two months later all is back to normal again. And, I have to add that the staff members, from the Assistant PA to the Billing Department and every employee in between, were very caring, compassionate, and comforting to me. They took an unpleasant situation and made it a pleasant experience for me.”

“On July 13, 2015, I was life flighted into Rapid City Regional hospital from a motorcycle accident. I have no memory of the accident, flight, emergency room, surgeries, etc...but I have heard from my family and friends how wonderful Dr. Dykstra was, even with the loss of my husband, a father, a brother, and friend. I was in ICU for 7 days and remember very little about that experience. After I was released from the hospital, I had to see Dr. Dykstra in his office 2-3 days after I was released. While I was in his office this day and the year following the accident, I remember him asking me and my family about how I was doing, how I was feeling, how was my arm, and etc...Dr. Dykstra is the best doctor I have ever seen. His bedside manners are amazing. Dr. Dykstra truly made me feeling important as I was trying to recover from the accident.”

“I like to arrive a little bit early, and I was escorted into the exam room right away by staff. My doctor and his assistant immediately diagnosed my problem, had treatment ready immediately, and I was back out the door and on my way within minutes of my arrival. I had a follow-up appointment and received the same amazing care, and am happy to report that the problem I had with my hand has been taken care of completely, quickly and efficiently. The staff were all friendly, courteous, and professional, and I would recommend BH Orthopedic and Spine Center without any hesitation.”
