After graduating from Saint John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota, with a bachelor of arts degree in biology and his bachelor of science degree in medicine from the University of South Dakota School of Medicine in Vermillion, South Dakota, he went on to receive his medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.

Thereafter, Dr. Eckrich completed his internship at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, California. Following his internship, Dr. Eckrich completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.

After Dr. Eckrich completed his residency, he went on to complete his fellowship in Pediatric Spine and Hip Deformity at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. Dr. Eckrich is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Dr. Stephen Eckrich is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who is available to see patients in Rapid City, South Dakota and Newcastle, Wyoming.

When Dr. Eckrich is not seeing patients, he enjoys flying, building his airplane, participating in family activities, hunting, fishing, waterskiing, and kiteboarding.
