Matt joined Black Hills Orthopedic
and Spine Center in 1998. He earned his degree in Physical Therapy from the
University of Oklahoma and later earned his Master's Degree in Education from
the University of Virginia. Matt's work experiences include employment at the
University of Virginia as a Sports Therapist and Athletic Trainer and as professor
of Physical Therapy at the Univ. of South Dakota. Matt has been active in research
and has published more than twenty abstracts, literature reviews and original
research articles in the journals Physical Therapy, Journal of Orthopedic and
Sports Physical Therapy, Journal of Manual and Manipulative Therapy, and Athletic
Training. Matt has been nationally recognized for his expertise and has been
an invited speaker at more than a dozen regional and national sports medicine
conferences, lecturing on topics such as shoulder rehabilitation and throwing
programs, sacro-iliac joint evaluation and treatment, and knee rehab with emphasis
on treatment for ACL reconstruction.
