Jennifer K. May, M.D.

Jennifer K. May, M.D. Dr. May joined the Arthritis and Rheumatic Disease Center at Black Hills Orthopedic & Spine Center in 2005. She is fellowship trained in Rheumatology, Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Dr. May specializes in the treatment of all types of Rheumatologic diseases, and has a special interest in the research of Gout and Ankylosing Spondylitis, a rare inflammatory disorder of the spine.

Dr. May remained on staff as an Associate Consultant, Department of Internal Medicine at Mayo Clinic after completing her fellowship training. Dr. May completed graduate work in clinical research while at Mayo Clinic and was Instructor of Medicine, Mayo Medical School from 5/2003-7/2005. Dr May also serves as a Clinical Instructor for the Department of Internal Medicine, University of South Dakota School of Medicine 2005-current, and DEXA Scan Interpreter, Osteoporosis Screening Center, Rapid City, SD 2007-current. Dr. May continues to conduct clinical research and has published several research articles.

A native of Rapid City, Dr. May is very pleased to return to the area with her family. They enjoy the performing arts, visiting the six national parks and monuments in the region, and the 1.2 million acres of Black Hills National Forest.
