  • “I had had a torn meniscus several years ago. It was starting to bother me so I went in to see Dr. Papendick and once he looked at my X-ray he immediately said I need a new knee.   This was in October of 2014, I was terrified to have surgery and recovery during the winter months, due to snow and ice, so I held off until I good weather, andthen of course it was one visitor coming to town after another, so it seemed like it just was not going to happen. Finally, at the end of August we got it done.   Dr. Papendick and all the Staff at the Surgical Hospital were the greatest Physical Therapy staff were awesome, pushed me just hard enough to make me feel it, but not to the point of no return.   I LOVE all of the staff there at Black Hills Orthopedic & Spine Center.   Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.”

I had a severe wrist break, it was smashed basically into small pieces and Dr. Dykstra did amazing work on my wrist, for the extent of my injury, he was able to get my wrist to function and I could get back to work quickly. I am very thankful that I had Dr. Dykstra as my orthopedic surgeon, he was direct about my prognosis and I really appreciated the direct talk on my injury.   • “5 out of 5 experience! I had a L-4/L-5 laminectomy on September 2, 2015. I was able to go home the same day as my surgery. My recovery was quick and without any complications or infection. Before surgery, I had terrible pain down my right leg, numbness in my right foot, and was unable to run or hike without constantly stopping and stretching my back to relieve the pain in my leg. The surgery dramatically relieved the pain in my leg, and the numbness in my foot is gradually decreasing. I now have much better strength in my right foot with very little foot drop. I will always highly recommend Black Hills Orthopedic and Spine Center to anyone who asks! Dr. Woodruff is a great surgeon as well as the kind of physician who can explain your medical situation in easy-to-understand terms. Overall, a really great experience with a really great staff!  ”
